Our Theory of Change

Students in Control of Their Device Use

As social media becomes increasingly prevalent in our lives, our goal is to help students navigate the online world with intention. We’re passionate about tackling the impacts of social media use on mental health with a curriculum designed to promote meaningful, positive digital habits and behaviors.

Drawing on student-centered instructional strategies, our dedicated team has crafted a unique curriculum that seamlessly integrates social media literacy with youth well-being. We empower students to understand the interconnectedness of their online choices and their overall well-being, enabling them to manage their digital presence thoughtfully and make informed decisions.

We believe in a proactive approach to education and collaboration, which is why we offer interactive lessons and professional development for educators. As schools increasingly adopt digital tools, we remain adaptable, continuously evolving our approach to meet emerging challenges. By focusing on practical, research-based methods, we prepare students to navigate both online and real-world issues with confidence and empathy.

Join KindEd—Together, let’s make social media use very demure, very mindful.

Our Mission

Our mission is to shape a better future where every child can navigate the digital world with confidence and protect their well-being online and offline.

Youth Empowerment

We give students the tools to take control of their social media lives and beyond, empowering them to make choices that reflect their values and priorities.

Mental Well-Being

We prioritize mental health and well-being, guiding students to use social media in ways that support their own happiness and safety.

A Better World

We believe that healthy social media practices create a ripple effect beyond the screen. By cultivating a generation of mindful users, we positively influence real-world interactions and societal norms, contributing to a better world both online and offline.

What Our Partners Say About Us

We recognize the profound impact that social media can have on the well-being and success of our students. By implementing the KindEd curriculum, we are hoping to not only impact student health, but to improve student behavior and promote academic achievement.

Michael Richie, Principal

One of the highlights for me was seeing how engaged and enthusiastic my 8th graders were with the curriculum. By middle school, students receive a lot of SEL content on mental health and emotional regulation, which can become repetitive. The social media lessons, however, felt fresh, relevant, and exciting. Social media is becoming an increasingly important part of their lives and culture, and the curriculum thoughtfully addresses it.

Macsen Romano, School Counselor

We can’t always bring people from the outside on the issues students are facing right now. So this book was very helpful. Students loved the interaction they have with each other and thinking deeply about their device use.

Felae Walker, School Counselor

The activities in this program have been engaging, fun and enlightening to witness students making sense of their social media usage and identity including myself.
